How to Change the Primary Portal Member on a Family Account
This process explains how a center admin can change which family member is set as the primary portal member in a family’s profile. The primary portal member is typically the parent or guardian who first registered the child and is responsible for receiving and managing key notifications.

Step 1: Access the Families Module and Locate the Family
Ensure you are in the Families module within your system. Search for and locate the family whose primary portal member you need to change.

Step 2: Open the Family Profile
Open the selected family’s profile to view their details and associated members.

In the profile, you will see which family member is currently set as the Primary Portal Member (for example, the mom).

Step 3: Identify or Add the New Primary Portal Member
Confirm which existing family member should become the new primary portal member (for example, the dad). If the desired person is not already listed, add them as a new family member or guardian to the profile before proceeding.
Step 4: Set the New Primary Portal Member
Locate the intended family member’s details (e.g., the dad) and toggle Primary Member to On for that person. Ensure that the new primary portal member has a valid email address on their profile, as an email is required for any portal member.

Step 5: Save Changes and Confirm the New Primary Portal Member
Click the Save icon to apply your changes.

After saving, verify that the new person (e.g., the dad) is now listed as the Primary Portal Member, and that this designation has been removed from the previous primary member (e.g., the mom).

The previous primary member will still retain regular portal access, but the new primary portal member will now be responsible for receiving and managing key notifications, such as incident reports, and signing any angreements. If you need to add a new family member before making them the primary portal member, refer to the separate training on how to add a new member to a family profile.
