This guide outlines how to use the Journals module in the Parent Portal to stay connected with your child's daily activities. It ensures parents can view real-time updates, acknowledge reports, and filter through specific incident or health records seamlessly.

How to View Daily Journals

To access the new Journals module:

  • Update Your App: Ensure you are using version 6.0.210, as the old Journals section in the Communicate module is no longer active.

  • Open the Module: Click the Journals tab at the bottom of the screen.

  • Switch Between Children: If you have multiple children at the center, click their names at the top to toggle between their specific journals.

  • Review Activities: Any recorded activities for the day will display on the screen.

  • Change Dates: Use the arrows beside the date option to view journals from previous days.

How to Sign-off on Incident/ Illness Reports and Search Journals

To view any agreements or reports that require your sign-off:

  • Access Pending Items: Click "View Sign Offs" in the top right corner.

  • Acknowledge Reports: Any Pending Acknowledgements will appear in the top bar; click there to view and sign required reports and agreements.

How to Filter and Search Journals

To search Incident & Health Journals by Activity Type or Student:

  • Open Filters: Click the filter icon on the right.

  • Search by Type: Use the Activity Type drop-down to filter specifically for Incident or Health journals.

  • Search by Student: Use the Student drop-down menu to search for a specific child.

  • Set a Timeframe: Select specific dates in the Start Date and End Date fields to view journals from a specific period.

  • Return: Click "Back to Journal" at the top to exit the search and return to the main view.
