Step 1: Open the Center Setup
Navigate to the Centers or Setup module from the left-hand menu. Then select the applicable center for which you are currently onboarding and configuring information.

Step 2: Access the Meals Customization Section
Under the Custom area for the selected center, select Meals to open the meals customization settings.

Step 3: Add or Remove Prohibited Meal Types
Within the Meals customization screen, you can define prohibited meal types:
To add a new prohibited meal type, click New and enter the relevant name or information (for example, βPorkβ).
To delete an existing prohibited meal type, click the X button next to it.

You can click the question mark icon to see a more detailed explanation of what a prohibited meal type is and how it is used in the system.

Step 4: Understand How Prohibited Meal Types Are Used
Prohibited meal types are selected by parents as part of their childβs profile, during the online registration process. Parents choose which meal types from your menu their child should not be given. This is different from allergies and is specifically tied to your menu offerings and any alternative or replacement options (for example, vegetarian dishes for children who cannot eat pork).
By defining these prohibited meal types here, you create a dropdown list parents can select from during online registration. The resulting data appears in the Dashboard under the Menu/Meals section and supports:
Menu planning
Grocery shopping
Ensuring the correct meal types and alternatives are provided to the appropriate groups of students by your kitchen staff.
